I have been taking guitar lessons for 3 months with Rochester's School of Guitar. Before starting lessons here, I had zero experience with any musical instrument. The teachers are knowledgeable and patient. Group lessons allow me to focus without feeling pressured. I have always felt comfortable with Chris and his team, and enjoy learning how to play the guitar. I will recommend Rochester's School of Guitar to anyone who is looking to learn.
I have been going here for three months now and I have learned more in these three months than I have in the past 15 years of trying to teach myself. The lesson plans keep things interesting and my progress inspires me to challenge myself while keeping things fun. I can’t wait to see my progress in the months (and years) to come!
Chris and his teachers are fantastic. I am an older student and started from the very basics. All the teachers have really helped me. I quickly developed and can play songs, and practice fundamentals with ease. I improve my playing and skill every lesson. I look forward to every lesson. Thank you, Chris, Steve, Cam, and Mike.
I went looking for lessons when teaching myself for the last 3 years was not giving me the results I had hoped for. After just 6 months of lessons at Rochester School of Guitar I am much farther along then I could have hoped for. Chris and his instructors are patient and down to earth. The lesson style and structure help build the proper foundation and fundamentals. Numerous 1 hr class blocks are avaliable through-out the day, 7 days a week.
I have been taking Rochester School of guitar lessons for 9 months.I played the guitar before, but I wanted to have a real technical and theoretical basis to be able to move on to the next level and thus be able to read any part. The flexibility of session planning is great, but it's Chris's methodology that makes learning easy, encouraging and contextual.Let's be honest music theory can be quite off-putting. But when it is applied to practice, on song/music that you like .... it goes much better right away!Group classes may seem difficult at first sight and yet I find many advantages:- Learn from each other: being with people of different levels allows me to share experiences and also learn from my classmates- Benefit from the explanations of Chris and other teachers even when they are not for me- the pleasure of meeting my class colleagues every week- Support and encouragement from everyone: because the atmosphere is supportive and friendly- The diversity of the teachers is very appreciable, each one having his own advice, here I am equipped with different approaches! Finally not a week without bursts of laughter and frankly that contributes at least to 80% in the motivation.Congratulations to Chris and the whole teamKeep going!
I have been taking lessons with Chris and team at the Rochester’s School of Guitar for a little more then a year now. It has been and continues to be a joy to work and learn from from Chris and the other great teachers at the school. The group setting is in my opinion a positive learning environment. The break you get as a teacher goes around individually helping other students, gives you a chance to practice something you were just taught before getting back to you. I think that much more desirable then having some one standing over the top of me watching all the time. For me it is much more relaxing. I look forward to my continued learning experience at the school.
It’s been a great experience learning how to play the guitar here! I absolutely love the environment, very welcoming and laid back! I went in not knowing how to play anything and today i am able to work on any piece of music that interests me! Anybody thinking about learning how to play should definitely consider signing up with Rochester school of guitar! Chris has a great staff at both locations I absolutely love this place
I have been enjoying my time learning guitar at Rochester's School of Guitar. I did the self training method for a week or two before I realized I needed structure and that is what Chris gave me.My favorite part of the lesson isn't being told what or how to do something, but being explained why a certain technique should be done in a specific way. It makes me actually understand why I am doing something a certain way, and this causes me to actually stick with what I am being told.
Rochester's School of Guitar is fantastic. At the time of this review I've been attending classes for almost 2 years, and it's been a very positive experience me. The material and structure has allowed me to improve my guitar skills faster than I ever did on my own. And it's not just for beginners looking to start guitar for the first time. The fretboard classes offered are great for intermediate and advanced players looking to take there playing to the next level.
Rochester School of Guitar has been a really great experience for learning guitar. Chris and the instructors have a great system to make sure you're achieving your goals and progressing as a guitar player while still having fun and not being overwhelmed. The classes are always enjoyable, helpful, and leave you motivated to keep playing while also giving you the necessary knowledge and tools to practice at home and keep making progress. Would recommend them to anyone at any skill level!
I've been taking lessons from Chris for 6 months after not playing for 40 years. The studio has a positive, encouraging vibe where each student is focused on their own lesson plan. Chris and his instructors offer plenty of indivdual attention, identify strengths and weakneses, and help set realistic goals. I'm happy with the instruction I've received and progress I've made. Best of all, it's fun!
I have been going here for about 6 months and it is a great place to learn. I find the teachers all help you concentrate on learning the basics and improving every class while still keeping it fun. I’m sure that you will enjoy learning here. Give them a call.
Chris and his team are fantastic teachers! Whatever level of guitar you're starting at, they have a plan for helping you get better. Hopefully this new location helps spread the good word
